Investigate Chinese Investment in SpaceX and U.S. Government Ties

Recent court testimony has revealed that Chinese investors hold direct financial stakes in Elon Musk’s SpaceX, sometimes through offshore secrecy jurisdictions like the Cayman Islands. SpaceX is not just a private company — it holds major defense and national security contracts, operates satellite infrastructure critical to global communications, and maintains close financial and operational ties to the U.S. government. If foreign investors connected to the Chinese government have partial ownership or influence within a company so deeply embedded in our defense systems, that represents a serious national security vulnerability. Congress has a duty to uncover the scope of these connections and ensure that no foreign power has backdoor access to U.S. military or space assets. I urge you to convene bipartisan hearings to subpoena full investor records and funding sources, to mandate a CFIUS review of SpaceX’s foreign investments, and to audit all U.S. government contracts with Musk-owned companies for potential conflicts of interest. This is not a partisan issue — it is a matter of protecting American sovereignty and securing the technologies that underpin our defense and communications systems. Our national security must never be for sale. I expect you to investigate these ties immediately and take corrective action to ensure full transparency and accountability.
