Air traffic incidents must stop DO YOUR JOB Oversight, fund, DOGE Out

462 so far! Let’s get to 500 signers!

I am appalled by the number of aviation incidents, near misses, and, most recently, the two air traffic communication blackouts at Newark Airport. The Trump administration fired hundreds of FAA employees (even though the FAA is already understaffed) and now Sean Duffy's plans to overhaul the system do not sound convincing. I am also shocked by the apparent conflicts of interest arising from Elon Musk and SpaceX and Star-link's proposed involvement in an overhauled air traffic control system. Indeed, Starlink equipment has already been installed in some locations with no transparency. I am sure you agree: Aviation safety is a critical national priority. The accident record, public statements by Trump, Duffy, and Musk, -- all give zero confidence that the system is being handled so as to ensure safety. The utmost folly of sacking expert staff in an already understaffed critical service is mind boggling. The underinvestment needs to be rectified immediately. It is also shocking that Musk's illegitimate DOGE team have interfered to make things worse. Please REPLY to let me know what oversight the relevant House and Senate Committees (the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Commerce, Science, and Transportation) have undertaken. Please demand proper oversight and scrutinise Musk's conflicts of interest. Ensure that external experts vet the proposals for change. Please: Say NO to spending millions on a June 14th vanity parade and ensure the national health and safety priorities are served.
