Pass a clean reauthorization for the lifesaving PEPFAR program

PEPFAR has saved 25 million lives and counting and changed the trajectory of the global HIV/AIDS epidemic. It is one of the most successful global health programs in history, and has earned broad-based, bipartisan support for two decades. That must not change now. While a short-term reauthorization has bought us time, it leaves too much uncertainty for the program’s future, and a former PEPFAR administrator has warned its effectiveness is contingent on stability, predictability, and the ability to establish multiyear partnerships with agencies, private sector actors and other national governments. Please support a clean five-year reauthorization of PEPFAR and work to pass it well before the March 25 deadline.
