Do your job and use your subpoena power now or resign.
You allowing unconstitutional and illegal acts to be done by Musk and Doge.
Yet you say you have not even thought of doing public oversight.
Why?
That is what you need to do; per your oath, per the remit of being appropriations chair.
Look at this:
"Collins was asked Thursday by the Press Herald whether she would bring in Musk or other members of his team, known as the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, to testify before the appropriations committee. Collins said she hadn't considered doing so."
Please reply in writing to explain why you are not doing your job, why are you not doing oversight?
Why have you not called in Musk and others in his gang to answer questions?
You are surely aware of the damage caused by the rash DOGE cuts, firings, and access to sensitive data.
This is a moment of gravest peril for our democracy: you have a role that enables you to shine a light on damage and put the brakes on.
This dereliction is shameful and will be seen in the future as cowardly compliance with lawless tyranny.
Please reply to acknowledge this letter and explain why you persist in a role you are unwilling to carry out.
