"The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives has "sole Power of Impeachment” & that the President & all civil Officers of the United States, “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, & Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes & Misdemeanors.” Further, the Constitution declares that “Treason against the USA shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Trump & Hegseth betrayed the oath to faithfully to execute the duties of their office & to... preserve, protect, & defend the Constitution of the United States — they engaged in Treason by levying war against the United States. On September 30, 2025, Trump & Hegseth addressed the US military leadership announcing plans to execute a “war from within” the USA. They declared this to the military leadership they expect to execute that war. Hegseth further requested resignation of military leaders with the integrity to resist unlawful orders. Later, Trump tied the war from within to cities run by the opposition party: "You know, the Democrats run most of the cities that are in bad shape… what they’ve done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, they’re very unsafe places and we’re going to straighten them out ... That’s a war too... a war from within.” Trump & Hegseth illegally deployed the National Guard, seeking to deny the right of US citizens & residents to freedom of speech, of assembly, & of the right to petition the government for redress of grievances; they engaged in censorship to punish political opponents; they retaliated against constitutionally protected speech, association, & expression, including protest & political opposition. The unambiguous treasonous intent of these words – that Potua and Hegseth intend to wage war against American cities, citizens, and their political opposition – is corroborated by their actions. Trump & Hegseth illegally federalized & deployed the National Guard over the objections of Governors of California, Oregon & Illinois, who never requested federal or military assistance. Trump & Hegseth are usurping the power & responsibility to maintain order; they are exercising police power as vested in the State by the Constitution of the USA. By forcibly deploying the National Guard from one state (Tx and Ca) to others (Illinois & Oregon) over objections of officials tasked with maintaining law & order by the Constitution, Trump & Hegseth pit State against State, violate State sovereignty, & threaten the system of federalism enshrined in the Constitution. Trump & Hegseth are levying war against the USA. That is treason.
