Come off the fence. Let's look at what treason consists of:
According to the US Constitution, Article III, Section 3, Clause 1 (1789):
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them..."
Now look at Trump's recents actions and statements.
National Guard troops I. American cities: what do we call this?
A deployment?
Or: a military occupation?
A court has already found that the Guard troops in LA were deployed in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act.
That means the deployment was not just illegal but was unconstitutional. You swore to support and defend the constitution; a president takes the same oath, with an additional clause to see that the laws are faithfully executed. As your constituent, I ask you to uphold your oath and hold Trump to his.
If you follow the news you will have seen this:
Donald Trump, pretending to be a military officer from the movie Apocalypse Now, wrote the following on Saturday:
"Chipocalypse now.
I love the smell of deportations in the morning . . . Chicago is about to find out why it's called the Department of War!"
That reads like a declaration of war.
What will it take for you to end this lawless reign of ruin, terror, and perhaps treason?
I ask you to vote for the release of the Epstein files and to hold Trump accountable now. It is time for impeachment.
