Protect public education, oppose dismantling Department of Education
The Trump administration's proposed executive order to dismantle the Department of Education is an assault on students, teachers, and families across America. Eliminating this crucial agency would slash federal funding for public schools, end support for students with disabilities, abolish civil rights protections in education, and terminate federal student loan and workforce development programs that strengthen our economy. Public education is a fundamental right, not a privilege reserved only for the wealthy. Gutting the Department of Education solely benefits extremists seeking to privatize our education system for profit. As your constituent, I implore you to firmly oppose any legislation like H.R. 899 or executive actions aimed at abolishing the Department of Education. Stand up for equal access to quality public education and reject this blatant attack on one of our nation's most vital institutions. The Department of Education plays an indispensable role in upholding educational rights and opportunities for all Americans. Its elimination would be catastrophic for millions of students, families, teachers and communities across our country. I urge you to denounce and block any attempt to abolish this essential agency.
