Urgent Action Needed: Sanctions on Sudanese War Criminals
Here's the letter body: The atrocities unfolding in Sudan demand immediate and decisive action from the United States. The Trump Administration must impose targeted sanctions, including travel bans, on those responsible for mass killings, systematic sexual violence, and the obstruction of humanitarian aid. These individuals must face real consequences for their crimes. According to UNICEF, at least 200 children and infants have been raped in Sudan since the start of 2024—part of a widespread campaign of sexual violence that accompanies the slaughter of civilians. Meanwhile, both the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue to commit war crimes with impunity, starving entire communities by blocking aid and targeting humanitarian workers. Additionally, Sudan’s military rulers have directly accused the UAE of fueling this genocide by supplying weapons to the RSF. This is a catastrophic escalation that threatens regional stability and deepens the suffering of civilians. The U.S. cannot remain complicit in Sudan’s destruction by failing to hold perpetrators and their enablers accountable. I urge you to demand immediate sanctions on those responsible for these war crimes. The U.S. must leverage its influence to ensure that Sudanese war criminals and those backing them face real accountability. Any further delay will only embolden more mass killings, rape, and starvation.
