Co-sponsor House Resolution H.Res.876 Recognizing Israel’s Genocide in Gaza
I am writing as your constituent from [City, ZIP] to urge you to co-sponsor House Resolution H.Res.876 or introduce a mirroring resolution in the Senate. This measure explicitly recognizes the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza and calls upon the United States government to immediately end military, financial, diplomatic, and security support to Israel until that genocide is halted and those responsible are held to account. It is long past time for the U.S. to stand with the demands of international law, to uphold the principles of the International Criminal Court’s jurisdiction, and to refuse further complicity in a campaign of mass killing of Palestinian civilians, including children, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, forced displacement, and the accelerating annexation of the West Bank. By formally supporting H.Res.876, you will signal that the U.S. no longer tolerates a policy of apartheid, collective punishment, and genocide, and that it affirms the right of all people to live free from occupation, ethnic cleansing, and mass violence. The American people expect our government to respect human dignity, comply with international treaties and norms, and call out genocide wherever it occurs — not remain complicit in it. I expect to see a press release from your office announcing your recognition of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and your decision to support H.Res.876 (or a mirroring Senate resolution) and to end U.S. military aid that fuels the killing of civilians in Gaza. Thank you to all who have already co-sponsored this resolution: your leadership matters, and you have my vote in the upcoming midterm elections.
