An open letter to the U.S. Congress

NO to Nazism. Condemn the Republican chat group's abhorrent language.

The revelation of texts from a young republicans chat group is chilling. Their grandparents who served in World War II must be turning in their graves. The "jokes"-- bigots, racial slurs, defense of Hitler, japes about the Holocaust and rape, derogatory comments about skin color, approval of gas chambers? Jokes about white supremacy and Nazi atrocities? Comments about wanting to kill political opponents?-- I am shocked and I hope you are too. How is this possible? I am aghast that JD Vance refused to condemn this, aghast that members of this "young" group are in their 20s and 30s and hold responsible jobs and roles. What about the swastika found affixed to an American flag in a flag in the office of a staffer for Ohio Rep Taylor? All this is beyond the bounds of decency. Would these men have enlisted to fight on Hitler's side instead of with the Allies? Please condemn these remarks publicly. Demand the resignation or dismissal of all involved. Please call for congressional investigation of the chat comments, members involved, and the swastika flag. Republicans in congress MUST publicly castigate this language and if they do not do so promptly they must be persuaded by all available means. Silence is compliance. Congress must speak publicly, officially, to affirm that all repudiate the views of the Nazi defenders and all stand with and will uphold and defend the principles of the equal dignity and rights guaranteed in the Constitution. Please reply to let me know how you are addressing this young Republican cancer of bigotry, racism and nazism and how you plan to respond to JD Vance's enabling of the same
