Release Abu Zubaydah from Guantanamo bay prison
The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has recently declared the detention of Abu Zubaydah at Guantánamo Bay as lacking lawful basis, implicating the UK, Pakistan, Poland, and Lithuania in his arrest, rendition, and detention. This marks the first time an international body has referred to the Guantánamo Bay prison camp as a potential crime against humanity. Zubaydah, who has been detained for over 20 years, is one of three "forever prisoners" who have not been charged or recommended for transfer. Given the absence of evidence linking Zubaydah to al-Qaida, it is requested that immediate action be taken to rectify this situation and release Zubaydah. This case raises serious concerns about the pattern of detention at Guantánamo and its potential implications on human rights.
