U.S. Bombings of Ships in the Caribbean Require Immediate Oversight
I am writing to demand immediate congressional investigation and public accountability regarding the recent U.S. military bombings in the Caribbean, where five separate strikes have reportedly been carried out against alleged “drug-trafficking” boats. These actions executed without due process, judicial review, congressional authorization, or transparent intelligence represent a stunning breach of both U.S. and international law. Even one strike should have triggered alarm and oversight; that five have occurred without government checks, investigations, or moral outrage is beyond unacceptable. It is terrifying. Each of these bombings constitutes a potential war crime. Conducting lethal attacks on vessels and individuals outside a declared war zone, with no judicial process or clear identification, violates the U.N. Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and fundamental human rights protections. It signals a deliberate erosion of constitutional checks and the weaponization of the “war on drugs” to justify U.S. imperialist aggression in the Caribbean and Latin America. These strikes appear part of a broader geopolitical maneuver possibly to justify conflict with Venezuela under the pretext of “combatting narcotics,” while positioning the U.S. to control regional oil reserves. This follows a long pattern of U.S. foreign policy: militarize, destabilize, dominate. What’s worse is the silence. Where is the outrage? Where are the oversight hearings? The absence of meaningful response from Congress, the press, and the public reflects a dangerous normalization of extrajudicial violence and authoritarian overreach. This behavior mirrors U.S. complicity in the ongoing war crimes and genocide in Gaza and across the Middle East, where billions in aid and political cover currently enable mass murder and displacement in Gaza and Palestine under the guise of “self-defense.” Both expose a moral rot in American foreign policy, the belief that U.S. power exists above law and humanity. I urge you to: 1. Demand immediate hearings and full disclosure of legal and intelligence justifications for these strikes. 2. Publicly condemn these actions as violations of international law and potential war crimes. 3. Restrict executive authority to launch overseas or maritime strikes without congressional approval. The United States cannot continue operating as a global empire under the banner of “security.” These bombings mark yet another moral and constitutional collapse. America cannot lead the world while committing or enabling atrocities. As a citizen, I demand immediate action and transparency from those entrusted to represent us. Silence in the face of lawlessness is complicity, and the American people deserve better than imperialist violence carried out in their name. I urge you to speak out Now. Not after the next strike. The world is watching. History will remember who stood silent.
