Hold Community Impact Hearings to keep us informed
As a concerned citizen, I urge you to take action and host a series of Community Impact Hearings regarding the outrageous federal firings and DOGE funding freezes occurring across the country under President Trump's reckless moves. These actions are causing immense disruption to people's lives, straining workplaces, and harming communities and household budgets in our state. Our state has lost jobs and will lose access to critical services due to these arbitrary cuts and terminations. It is imperative that you provide a platform for impacted state residents to share their stories and experiences firsthand. By holding Community Impact Hearings, you can hear directly from former federal employees, non-profits, agencies, healthcare institutions, and community members suffering real consequences from these destructive policies. Their voices deserve to be amplified. Furthermore, these hearings present an opportunity to inform the public about the steps your offices are taking to protect state workers, safeguard essential funding, and hold the federal government accountable. Our state cannot afford to remain silent while the lives of hardworking families are thrown into turmoil. The people of our great state are counting on your leadership during this crisis. I implore you to prioritize scheduling a series of Community Impact Hearings across the state without delay. Our communities have a right to be heard, and tangible actions must be taken to mitigate this unacceptable situation. Our state is depending on communication from our elected officials to keep us informed.
