NO to 45 billion for ICE detention centers. Restore USAID instead
Say NO to the Department of Homeland Security's request for 45 billion, yes 45 BILLION dollars to build new ICE immigration detention centers. Instead please insist that the funds previously appropriated to USAID of 44 billion are used as intended, including to decrease immigration to the US by programs in Latin America. We know that the Trump regime wants immigration to be a crisis and they want to monetise detention as a source of private profit for donors. We know that the GOP rejected a comprehensive immigration bill under Biden in order to weaponise the issue. It's time for Congress to take back its appropriation powers, tariff powers and stop the fake emergency declarations. Our destiny is a nation is NOT to be a dictatorship with human rights abuses, siding with other dictatorships, repressing freedom of expression, ruled by decrees from a tyrant. Congress has shamefully allowed the executive to arrogate congressional powers. Take a warning from Anne Frank: "Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. ... Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone." Do not allow us to become a nation of cruelty, human rights abuses, epidemics from preventable disease, social injustice, racism, bigotry and xenophobia. Do your job. Stop shredding the constitution. NO TO 45 BILLION FOR ICE Concentration camps. Fund USAID instead.
