Impose an arms embargo on Israel for murdering 165 journalists

The uninterrupted flow of US arms and military assistance to Israel despite the well-documented killing of over 165 Palestinian journalists in Gaza is unconscionable. Israel has clearly demonstrated a blatant disregard for the safety of journalists and the freedom of press. By intentionally targeting identifiable members of the media, Israel's actions constitute war crimes under international law. The decision by the Biden administration to proceed with a new $18 billion arms deal, including over 6,500 Joint Direct Attack Munitions guidance kits for Israel, rewards Israel's egregious human rights violations and emboldens further transgressions. It is imperative that all weapons transfers to Israel be immediately halted until there is credible accountability for these crimes. An arms embargo must be imposed to prevent US-supplied arms from enabling more atrocities and uphold the principles of human rights and democracy.
