Condemn the Collins-Thune senate payola scam.
Equality before the law is one of our constitutional touchstones.
Neither the Constitution nor the principles of equality before the law should be partisan issues.
And yet the latest CR passed by the senate and house incorporates a provision to let senators whose phone logs were *lawfully* subpoenaed in connection with the January 6th investigations sue-- for mega payouts.
No one else gets to sue for a properly predicated investigation.
Authorising a scheme that would overturn the rule of law and lead to a four million dollar payout while president fights to block appropriated SNAP funds is a moral disgrace. Doing so while you refuse pass the funding to keep ACA subsidisies is an abomination.
Collins and Thune are responsible for the inclusion of this unscionable measure. With it, Collins and Thune have brought the senate into disrepute. The measure is a flagrant example of grifting corrupt self-service from those who should serve us.
I ask you to vote against any CR with this corrupt payout resolution.
I ask you to condemn the machinations of Thune and Collins.
For Senators I ask you to move to remove Thune from his leadership role as majority leader and senate GOP leader.
I also ask you to demand that Collins step down or be removed from the role of appropriations committee chair.
