It would codify Musk's destructive actions that are systematically dismantling the federal government in violation of the Constitution and congressional statutes. The mass layoffs at the Department of Education, carried out unlawfully without due process, are a blatant assault on the separation of powers and Congressional authority. Allowing this resolution to pass would grant Musk unchecked power to reallocate $1.6 trillion in taxpayer funds as he pleases, enriching himself and his companies at the public's expense. This wholesale ransacking cannot be normalized or discounted. The nation's prosperity, health, safety, and global standing are at stake. Senate Democrats must utilize the filibuster, their sole remaining legislative tool, to block this resolution and force bipartisan negotiations. Failing to do so would be an unforgivable capitulation and dereliction of duty. Furthermore, a coordinated daily press strategy is urgently needed to aggressively counter the normalization of this slow-motion coup. Morning press conferences would keep the public informed and maintain pressure on those considering surrender. The stakes could not be higher for defending democracy, the rule of law, and American interests against authoritarian overreach.
