Resistbot Petition: NO to line-item vetoes by Trump. NO last minute rescissions. NO CR
An open letter to the U.S. Congress

NO to line-item vetoes by Trump. NO last minute rescissions. NO CR

104 so far! Let’s get to 250 signers!

No more rescissions! NO continuing resolution without assurances. Stop Trump from illegally doing line item vetoes by making late rescission requests. The constitution does not grant that power to the executive. Now it's up to you in Congress to say NO and uphold the constitution against Trump's ILLEGAL executive overreach. John Roberts has betrayed history and the constitution by allowing Trump to have a line-item veto -- but you can vote against these. Do not fund this rogue illegal regime. VOTE NO on the continuing resolution and shut down this fascist law-breaking regime. Demand concessions. Demand constitutional order. Put the brakes on ICE. Congress's power of the purse is a fundamental principle of our constitution-- as you well know. Remember that Trump's first impeachment was for refusing to spend Congressionally appropriated funds for Ukraine? Remember the impoundment act of 1974? Remember that the president is supposed to see that the laws are faithfully executed? We expect our electeds to uphold their oaths and do the jobs they receive a salary for. That means ensuring that Congress deploys and defends its constitutional role and powers. I am outraged by the illegal destruction of constitutional order, federal agencies, our rights and the rule of law. I count on you to act with integrity. NO last minute rescissions. NO impoundment. NO more executive overreach and NO more of Congress ceding its authority to the President. Please vote no on the continuing resolution. DO NOT fund this rogue regime. Vote NO and hold the line.
