I am writing to bring to your attention recent reports highlighting severe human rights abuses involving the severe torture of Palestinian detainees by Israeli authorities. These incidents demand immediate scrutiny and action from all members of Congress.
On July 29, Israeli far-right protesters, soldiers, and MKs rallied outside Beit Lid for guards suspected of raping a Palestinian detainee. The article from +972 Magazine states:
A group of masked soldiers carrying weapons stood out in the crowd.
The soldiers came to Beit Lid to support and demand the release of ten of their comrades who had been arrested on suspicion of raping a Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman. The detainee, according to Physicians for Human Rights – Israel was hospitalized three weeks ago with severe injuries to his rectum.
A CNN exposé detailed horrific abuses, including gang rape by soldiers, electric shocks, and extreme physical and psychological violence. These acts are part of a systematic culture of abuse supported by Israeli officials.

They paint a picture of a facility where doctors amputated prisoners’ limbs due to injuries sustained from constant handcuffing; of medical procedures performed by underqualified medics earning it a reputation for being “a paradise for interns”; and where the air is filled with the smell of neglected wounds left to rot.

Lawmaker Hanoch Milwidsky was asked as he defended the alleged abuse whether it was legitimate, "to insert a stick into a person's rectum?"
"Yes!" he shouted in reply to his fellow parliamentarian. "If he is a Nukhba, everything is legitimate to do! Everything!"
As an official claiming to uphold human rights and justice, you must take these immediate actions on this issue.
1.Push for prosecution of those responsible for these abuses.
2.Advocate for a thorough and impartial investigation into these allegations.
3. Immediate arms embargo on Israel.
Outrage over allegations of weaponized sexual violence by one group and not another is a heinous display of support for such violence. I expect you to stand against this systemic issue and to fight for justice for all victims of weaponized sexual violence.
