I am writing to express my outrage over the Israeli military’s blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. According to eyewitness accounts and reports, an Israeli sniper killed a Palestinian child in Rafah. To make matters worse, the Israeli army opened fire on a man attempting to retrieve the child’s body, as captured on video. This deliberate targeting of civilians during a ceasefire is both abhorrent and a violation of international law.
Such actions undermine the integrity of ceasefires and perpetuate violence, instability, and suffering in the region. As my elected representative, it is your responsibility to unequivocally condemn these actions and demand accountability from Israel. The United States must not turn a blind eye to violations of international agreements and the targeting of innocent lives, particularly when our taxpayer dollars are used to support Israel’s military.
I urge you to publicly demand an independent investigation into this incident and press for consequences for Israel’s repeated breaches of international law. Silence in the face of these atrocities is complicity. Please act swiftly to uphold justice and human rights.
