Your support in the face of this crisis is not only unconscionable but directly contradicts the values of justice, compassion, and humanity that you claim to uphold.
I draw your attention to the recent findings from War Child’s report on the impact of the war on children in Gaza. These numbers are not just statistics—they are a damning indictment of a system that continues to turn endorse the suffering of innocent lives:
• 96% of children in Gaza now live in constant fear, with the overwhelming sense that death is imminent.
• 49% of children, in a harrowing display of despair, express a wish to die.
• 87% of children exhibit signs of severe fear, while 79% are plagued by nightmares—psychologically scarred beyond measure.
• 77% of children have shut down emotionally, refusing to speak about the trauma they endure daily.
What do you stand for, if not for the protection of vulnerable children? This is the price of your continued support. The lives of children, whose futures are being systematically erased, have become collateral damage in a game of politics you refuse to challenge. This is not a matter of diplomacy—it is a matter of life and death, and you are complicit in allowing it to continue.
As your constituent, I demand that you take the following actions, immediately:
1. Support sanctions on Israel to enforce an immediate ceasefire and hold its leadership accountable for the continued violation of international law. The killing of children in Gaza is a war crime, and your silence is a betrayal of every principle you claim to represent.
2. Ban weapons and military equipment sales to Israel, and enforce a two-way trade embargo. The weapons that are used to commit these atrocities are funded by U.S. taxpayers, and your complicity in enabling this violence cannot be ignored.
3. Officially recognize the state of Palestine and affirm their right to self-determination. The people of Gaza are not pawns in a geopolitical game; they are human beings whose lives deserve dignity, respect, and sovereignty.
Gaza is not just a place—it is a humanitarian catastrophe of your making. This can not be ignored or dismissed as something far from our shores. The blood of innocent children stains the hands of anyone who chooses support of Israel over justice. Will you allow this to continue? Will you turn your back on the suffering of these children and their families? Or will you stand up and demand that this violence stop now?
We will not stand idly by while you fail to take action. There can be no more excuses.
