Resistbot Petition: Release Mahmoud Khalil, after invalid arrest and attack on first amendment rights
An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Release Mahmoud Khalil, after invalid arrest and attack on first amendment rights

338 so far! Let’s get to 500 signers!

Mahmoud Khalil's detention appears to be a disturbing violation of free speech rights protected by the First Amendment. As a lawful permanent resident, revoking his green card and detaining him solely due to his political activism and views is a blatant attack on civil liberties that should concern all Americans. This reeks of the repressive tactics used during the McCarthy era to silence dissent. Deporting individuals for expressing opinions the government dislikes sets a dangerous precedent that undermines fundamental Constitutional freedoms. Khalil should be released immediately and afforded full due process. Punishing peaceful protesters through the weaponization of immigration laws is unacceptable in a free society. I urge you to speak out against this injustice and ensure Khalil's rights are fully upheld.
