Reject Pentagon budget increase, prevent Musk's SpaceX exploitation

4,300 so far! Let’s get to 5,000 signers!

The proposed $150 billion increase to the Pentagon's budget in the budget reconciliation bill is deeply concerning. A large portion of this increase would be funneled towards the "Golden Dome" project, a Ronnie Ray-Guns-era relic estimated to cost hundreds of billions to trillions of dollars beyond the initial $25 billion investment.   Even more alarming is the potential conflict of interest, as Elon Musk's SpaceX has proposed a plan involving the launch of hundreds to thousands of satellites, essentially locking the United States into a payment plan with his company. This appears to be a blatant attempt to direct massive government contracts and taxpayer funds to benefit Musk's private enterprises. His recent dismantling of government climate analysis and regulation departments using DOGE further raises suspicions about his motives.   Congress must step in to thoroughly investigate these conflicts of interest and prevent the misuse of public funds for private gain. Our national priorities should be focused on addressing urgent issues like hunger, education, and healthcare - not increasing an already bloated military-industrial complex or providing handouts to billionaires.   I urge you to reject this irresponsible budget increase and the potential exploitation of public resources by private entities. Robust oversight and accountability measures are crucial to safeguard the interests of the American people.
