ICE are the Gestapo.
The ICE and Border security are committing crimes, showing contempt for the rule of law and overturning the constitution.
You just voted a massive increase in funds to this Gestapo.
Let me remind you of sone of the things ICE has done.
They have refused legally allowed oversight and inspections by members of Congress. This is a contravention of the law.
Since ICE/CBP have "bean" in
Chicago they've:
• Shot and killed an unarmed father of two, Silverio Villegas González;
• Shot a US citizen five times and bragged about it;
• Been caught drunk driving after leaving the Broadview facility;
• Admitted to lying in federal court
Admitted to arresting people
"based on how they look";
• Violently detained a daycare teacher;
- Tear gassed Chicago police officers, twice;
• Zip-tied small children and elderly women in the middle of the night after breaking down their doors and smashing windows in South Shore;
Tear gassed a children's
Halloween parade;
• Detained multiple US citizens both in Chicago and nationwide;
• Mocked Chicagoans who've been teargassed;
• Shot protestors, journalists, and a Minister with pepper balls;
• Arrested a City Council member for asking to see a warrant
authorizing detentions being carried out at a hospital;
Slammed a 15-year-old US citizen to the ground and detained him for five hours;
• Pepper sprayed a one-year-old child;
• Put a resident in a chokehold on the side of the street on the West Side;
• Pinned a WGN employee to the ground before detaining her;
• Pointed weapons at civilians and media on multiple occasions;
The ICE for-profit detention centers are treating the detainees with cruelty and imposing conditions that would count as war crimes according to international conventions.
You have the power to do oversight, to issue subpoenas, to defund ICE and to visit and inspect ICE facilities.
You are complicit in a scheme of monstrous abuse of the law, human rights, and basic decency if you do not call out these abuses and use every tool at your disposal to rein back ICE.
If this seems too hard, then think of the Gestapo and the Nuremberg trials.
