This dangerous fearmongering and embrace of debunked conspiracy theories for political gain is unacceptable. Officials have confirmed there is zero evidence to support these disturbing allegations, which have now endangered an entire community. Vance and Trump must be held accountable for recklessly inciting panic, hate, and potential violence with their inflammatory falsehoods. Lying to whip up animosity toward vulnerable groups of people is reprehensible conduct unbefitting of public leaders. Strong repercussions are warranted to send a clear message that trafficking in racist disinformation to score political points will not be tolerated.
