I want to thank you for your leadership in pushing for a ban on individual stock trading for members of Congress. Your voice has been strong and consistent on this issue, and I applaud you for helping move it forward with bipartisan momentum.
The American people need to know that their elected officials are serving them—not their own financial interests. As you’ve said many times, trust in government depends on clear and enforceable standards. If someone wants to trade stocks, they don’t need to be in politics.
I also encourage you and your colleagues to press for this reform across all branches of government, including—and especially—the White House. A true commitment to restoring trust means making sure no public servant is profiting from insider knowledge.
