Demand the Immediate Release of political prisoner Mansour Shouman

52 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

Mansour Shouman, a Palestinian-Canadian father, son, and humanitarian was abducted on January 23rd, 2024 while traveling from Khan Younis to Rafah in Gaza. His work involved directly reporting from Gaza and providing aid to displaced and injured citizens impacted by the relentless campaign of violence by the IDF against Palestinians. This incident is not just an attack on one individual but a blatant disregard for human rights. The abduction of Mansour is part of a larger issue where numerous civilians have been unlawfully detained without any charges or trial. According to B'Tselem - The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, as of December 2023, there were approximately 4,650 Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons (B'Tselem). Mansour's work as a humanitarian was crucial in providing aid to those affected by this conflict. His absence has left many vulnerable individuals without support they desperately need. Mansour was also a journalist who was imprisoned in Syria and wrote the names of other Syrian political prisoners on a scrap of cloth using blood and rust using a broken chicken bone. Mansour's journalism work is very important in bringing democracy and freedom to the middle east. We call upon the Government of the United States to demand that the government of Israel releases political prisoner Mansour Shouman from it's prison immediately.
