Resistbot Petition: Netanyahu Should Not Be Welcomed to Address Congress. Say No to Netanyahu!
An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Netanyahu Should Not Be Welcomed to Address Congress. Say No to Netanyahu!

36 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

I am outraged that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited to address Congress. Netanyahu is corrupt and continuing the war on Gaza for his own political gain. His relentless bombings of hospitals and refugee camps have killed tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, and Israel has now been blacklisted as a country that harms children. Netanyahu has made it clear that he is more interested in his political party’s far-right agenda than in negotiating peace and securing the release of the hostages. Welcoming him to speak to Congress will undermine efforts by President Biden and the international community to end the ongoing violence and get desperately needed aid to the people of Gaza. Several members of Congress, including Senators Bernie Sanders and Representatives Ro Khanna and Jim Clyburn, have already announced their decision to boycott Netanyahu's address, condemning it as inappropriate given his role in the ongoing humanitarian disaster. (https://www.sanders.senate.gov/in-the-news/sanders-its-wrong-to-honor-netanyahu-with-congressional-address/) (https://www.yahoo.com/news/bernie-sanders-boycott-war-criminal-195058144.html) (https://news.yahoo.com/news/rep-ro-khanna-joins-other-195216516.html) I expect you to say No to Netanyahu and skip his address. You must send a clear message to the world that you do not support Israel’s prolonged onslaught or the bloodshed it has caused, and take a stand in support of a ceasefire.
