For the last four years, Emergency Housing Vouchers have been helping folks in need escape homelessness and domestic violence. Now, it’s running out of money. Congress must act to save this program and provide the funding it requires.
60,000 people are at risk of being tossed back onto the street or back into abusive relationships if you allow Emergency Housing Vouchers to die. It would be among the largest one-time losses of rental assistance in American history. These are children, seniors and veterans who we would be abandoning to pay for more cuts for billionaires. They deserve a roof over their heads more than some corporate donor deserves a new private plane.
