Uphold Due Process - Free Kidnapped and Imprisoned People in CECOT
Juan José Ramos Ramos, Andry Omar Blanco Bonilla, and Wilmar José Vega Sandia are three of the more than 230 Venezuelan men the Trump administration sent to CECOT, a maximum security prison in El Salvador. None of these three men are flagged as having a criminal conviction or pending charges in U.S. government data ProPublica obtained, and there are no criminal records for them either. In fact, the majority of Venezuelans sent to CECOT have no criminal record. Yet the administration sent them to what one man said was “not a place meant for humans.” This administrations’ actions indicate fascism and authoritarianism. Imprisoning people without due process violates our Constitution and goes against any common decency, respect, and humanity. We urge you to use all your power to uphold due process. We urge you to reject the blatant racist actions of this presidential administration. People currently kidnapped and held in CECOT for no charges need to be freed immediately.
