Resistbot Petition: Stop the Out-of-Control Weaponization of the DOJ

Stop the Out-of-Control Weaponization of the DOJ

7,122 so far! Let’s get to 10,000 signers!

The Department of Justice has strayed from its mission of upholding the law and ensuring justice for all Americans. Under Attorney General Bondi's leadership, the DOJ has engaged in disturbing actions that undermine its integrity and independence. Key appointments like FBI Director Kash Patel and deputies like Blanche, Bongino, and Bove have turned the DOJ into a political weapon protecting Trump's interests over those of the people. Troubling examples include dropping charges against Trump's co-defendants in the classified documents case, firing prosecutors investigating Trump and the January 6th insurrection, opening retaliatory investigations into former officials like Comey and Brennan, and discrediting whistleblowers exposing unethical conduct. The mishandling of the Epstein case, with the firing of a prosecutor and contradictory memos, further erodes public trust. These actions make clear the DOJ has been compromised and no longer serves the interests of justice and the rule of law. I implore Congress to utilize its full authority to insulate the DOJ from executive branch overreach and political interference. Concrete steps like creating an independent prosecutor role, strengthening whistleblower protections, and increasing oversight through investigative hearings are urgently needed. The American people must be able to have faith that the Department of Justice works for them, not any particular political party or individual. Restoring its independence should be a top priority.
