Preserve the Institute of Museum and Library Services
I am writing today in response to Trump’s Executive Order to dismantle the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This is a terrible plan, as it would defund libraries all across the country. Libraries are an extremely valuable public asset, and a clear good for communities of all sizes. Libraries provide multiple services, all at no charge to the user, which are critical to the individuals and their cities. Reducing library services and hours is not going to make a positive difference to anyone, and it will create significant negative effects on countless individuals and neighborhoods. Keep the Institute open, fully funded, and functioning for the health of our people, communities, and country. Thank you for your time.
