Investigate Trump & Co - Defend The Constitution or I’ll Vote for Those Who Will

I am writing to demand urgent action against the Trump administration’s dangerous and escalating authoritarian attacks on our Constitution—particularly its outright assault on due process, freedom of speech, and the rights of U.S. citizens. The recent revelations regarding the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador despite a U.S. Supreme Court order demonstrate the terrifying direction this administration is heading. President Trump, in open defiance of the Court, has refused to return a man unlawfully deported and detained in a foreign prison—setting a precedent for the unlawful banishment of American residents and even citizens. As Nayna Gupta of the American Immigration Council stated, “This is just the president playing a dangerous game here. He is testing the limits of his authority. He is testing the limits of United States rule of law. And he is flirting with the idea of sending U.S. citizens to a foreign prison. …but if the Trump administration gets away with violating multiple court orders and refusing to return Mr. Abrego Garcia, that will be an emboldening moment for the president. That will mean the president feels emboldened and has the right, in his mind, to take actions like the one he’s threatening…” These actions not only violate the Constitution—they are fundamentally authoritarian. Gupta rightly characterized the Oval Office meeting between Trump and Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele as “political theater and a set of administration officials lying to the American public.” She further asserted that “Donald Trump and his administration can absolutely bring home Mr. Abrego Garcia. That is well within their power and authority.” This administration’s willingness to disappear individuals into foreign prisons based on unsubstantiated allegations and to defy the judicial branch of government must not be tolerated. If left unchecked, it signals the collapse of constitutional order. I urge you to: 1. Open an immediate congressional investigation into these deportations and detentions. 2. Enact legal safeguards ensuring no U.S. citizen or resident is removed from this country without due process and court oversight. 3. Condemn and block any further cooperation with foreign regimes that serve as accomplices in these human rights violations. Silence and delay are complicity. History will remember those who chose to act—and those who did not. I implore you to stand on the side of justice and the Constitution.
