Legislate protections for workers affected by mass layoffs
The abrupt firing of a large number of workers without proper notice or compensation is highly concerning and unethical. Companies have a responsibility to treat their employees with respect and provide adequate support during transitions. I urge you to draft legislation mandating reasonable severance packages and continuing healthcare benefits for workers affected by mass layoffs. This would ensure some financial security as they seek new employment opportunities. Furthermore, public support and advocacy for the impacted workers' fair treatment is crucial during this difficult time. Safeguards must be put in place to prevent corporations from exploiting labor without consequences. Prioritizing corporate profits over people's livelihoods is unacceptable.
