Despite Republicans dominating the Indiana State Legislature, two bills are on the docket which could make a big difference for Indiana homeowners who want to install solar panels.

SB 430

SB 430 repeals SB 309 which limited the use of “net-metering” on Indiana’s power-grids. Net-metering is a policy that lets customers sell any extra power they generate back to the power-company; it’s one of the surest way to make rooftop solar cost effective.

HB 1331

Some homeowners associations have a negative opinion about solar energy systems. HB 1331 restricts their ability to prohibit homeowners from installing solar panels.

Tell Your Government What You Think

If you live in Indiana these measures will give you the freedom to make your home more sustainable and can have a big impact on your electric bill; you can have your say about them by sending the word state to Resistbot.
