It’s like deja vu all over again

November 11, 2018, at the Broward Supervisor of Elections office in Lauderhill, Fla. The Florida recount began Sunday morning in Broward County.

While visions of hanging chads dance in our heads, Florida is once again the focus of national politics as voters and candidates await the results of recounts in races too close to call.

Lawsuits mount over Florida recount battle as political acrimony deepens

Recounts began amid accusations on both sides of the aisle regarding voter fraud, machine failure, and improperly case votes. “Machine recounts in Florida’s races for governor, Senate and agriculture commissioner were ordered Saturday due to tight margins in the votes and immediately became the focus of lawsuits by candidates.”

The results of the machine counts are due on Thursday and hand-recounts in all 67 counties loom on the horizon.

Tell your government what you think

If you’re a Florida resident you can demand better ballots and more robust recount election policy by writing your governor. Or, you could go national and tell your Representatives and Senators to set some standards. You can write all of them by sending the word Resist to Resistbot on Facebook Messenger, Telegram, or as a Twitter direct message. If none of those work for you, Resistbot also supports old fashioned SMS: text RESIST to 50409 to get started. It takes 2 minutes to give ’em a piece of your mind.

Support the ’bot!
