Health-care plan isn’t good enough
Lynn Bhullar in the Indianapolis Star
Do not support health care legislation that allows states to decide whether to opt out of requiring health insurance companies to cover Americans with pre-existing conditions.
The breast cancer that killed my friend, a 34-year-old elementary teacher and mother of two, wasn’t caused by bad habits on her part. The pancreatic cancer that killed my father wasn’t his fault. The lung cancer that killed a veteran non-smoker exposed to Agent Orange wasn’t his fault.
One thing all Americans can unite behind is affordable, high quality health care for the poor, the sick and the middle class.
Work together on both sides of the aisle and with state governors to figure it out. Americans deserve better than the current proposals offered.
